To try and cut off all the emails about the convention, here is a brief run down on some of the answers. You will find these will work for about 95% of all Australian conventions.
1. How do I buy tickets? Email us with the following information: name, address, phone number, Type & Qty of tickets, How you would like to pay To get the special Fan Club price, you will have to have your membership card with you on the day as proof or you will be asked to pay the extra $25. 2. What Payment options are there? You can pay with credit card, cheque, money order or direct deposit. Just confirm via email first as above 3. When will my tickets arrive? They won't! Everything is collected at the door on the day. Don't worry, everything is well organised and processing your admission at the door is easiest all round. 4. Will there be merchandise available on the day? Yes, as well as 8x10 pictures to have signed, there will be a full selection of general Science Fiction and fantasy merchandise available for purchase through our retailing friends GIFTS FOR THE GEEK & Flaming Star Collectibles. 5. What happens if the guests don't come? We will try to replace with an equivalent guest. All contracts with appearances are commitments and health pending. So if a job comes up then he can cancel. But we won't simply replace a large guest with someone who wore in a red shirt back in 1968 for 1 episode. If a main cast member pulls out, we would replace with a main cast member or someone equally appealing to the masses. Only in the event of a full event cancellation will refunds be offered. 6. I've never been to a convention before, how can I trust you? First Contact Conventions has been around for 7 years running events and I (Scotty) am very well known by all the major fan clubs. Please fell free to ask any of them for a reference. I also run the ARMAGEDDON Multimedia Expo in Melbourne which caters to over 15,500 fans over 2 days.
All announced guests are confirmed (contracts signed), acting commitments pending. Refunds cannot be given if a particular guest does not attend, however First Contact Conventions will always provide a replacement guest if there is sufficient notice. If First Contact Conventions cancels the convention, all payments will be refunded or at your request transferred to another convention. |
